An amazing comedy show which makes you cry from laughter…. An epitome of NOTHING… a very different type of comedy…. Nothing like this show ever happened before and might never happen again…. Enjoy these wonderful Seinfeld quotes!!!!

Jerry:A recent survey stated that the average person's greatest fear is having to give a speech in public. Somehow this ranked even higher than death which was third on the list. So, you're telling me that at a funeral, most people would rather be the guy in the coffin than have to stand up and give a eulogy.

Kramer - "The monkey should be apologising to me"

George- I am Art Vandelay, I am an Importer/Exporter

George-I am Art Vandelay, I am an architect

George's answering machine :

believe it or not George isn't at home,
please leave a messaaaaaaage at the beep.
i must be out, or i'd pick up the phone,

believe it or not i'm not homeee.........

George Costanza- "Yeah, I’m a great quitter: it’s one of the few things I do well… I come from a long line of quitters. My father was a quitter, my grandfather was a quitter… I was raised to give up"

Cheryl: You're a very serious person, aren't you?
Jerry: Well, with so many people in the world deprived and unhappy, it doesn't
seem like it would be fair to be cheerful.
Cheryl: I understand.
...
Cheryl: Do you ever laugh?
Jerry: Not really. Sometimes, when I'm in the tub.
Cheryl: That's so sad. What do you do?
Jerry: I'm a comedian

Steinberner: That boy Costanza....First in the morning, last one at night, I tell you that kid was a human dynamo!!

Estelle: Are you sure you're talking about George?

Jerry-“who would go to a superbowl with a mailman
who would go anywhere with newman”

George to Jerry: "we had an incredible conversation. we talked for like 20 minutes. I even threw away my notes in middle of the call"

George: what kind of man are you ?
Jerry: more or less like you , only successful

kramer and the zoo inspector

zoo inspector:that chimp is an innocent primate
Kramer:....so am i

Kramer: we can have a cofee table book on coffee table books...isnt it interesting?

George: Hey believe me, baldness will catch on. When the aliens come, who do you think they're gonna relate to? Who do you think is going to be the first ones getting a tour of the ship?
Jerry: The baldies

George: He purposely mispronounced my name. Instead of saying "Costanza", he'd say "Can't-stand-ya, can't stand ya!". He made me smell my own gym socks once.

Kramer on marriage: wise words from Kramer
KRAMER: Absolutely not. I mean, what are you thinking about, jerry? Marriage? Family?
JERRY: Well...
KRAMER: They're prisons. Man made prisons. You're doing time. You get up in the morning. She's there. You go to sleep at night. She's there. It's like you gotta ask permission to use the bathroom. Is it all right if I use the bathroom now?
JERRY: Really?
KRAMER: Yeah, and you can forget about watching TV while you're eating.
JERRY: I can?
KRAMER: Oh, yeah. You know why? Because it's dinner time. And you know what you do at dinner?
JERRY: What?
KRAMER: You talk about your day. How was your day today? Did you have a good day today or a bad day today? Well, what kind of day was it? Well, I don't know. How about you? How was your day?
JERRY: Boy.
KRAMER: It's sad , Jerry. It's a sad state of affairs..
JERRY: I'm glad we had this talk.
KRAMER: Oh, you have no idea.

Cosmo Kramer: Jerry, I am retiting...
Jerry: You cant do that..You have to be doing something to retire from

Kramer:"These eggs are bad. This chicken should be ashamed of itself!!"-this one's firm

Kramer talking to his boss in the office

After 72 hours of non stop cigar smoking.
Kramer: (looking at his reflection in a toaster) Im all craggly!
Jerry: What'd you expect? You've experienced a lifetime of smoking in 72 hours!
Kramer: Emphysima, Birth defects, cancer ... but not this ... look away Jerry, I'm hideous!

George-"JERRY, JUST REMEMBER, IT'S NOT A LIE IF YOU BELIEVE IT"

George-"You know I always wanted to pretend I was an architect."

George-"Why can't I have a heart attack? I'm allowed!"

George-"Pity's very underrated. I like pity. It's good."

George-"I always get the feeling that when lesbians look at me, they're thinking, 'That's why I'm not a heterosexual.'"

George-"You should've seen her face. It was the exact same look my father gave me when I told him I wanted to be a ventriloquist."

George-"It became very clear to me sitting out there today that every decision I've made in my entire life has been wrong. My life is the complete opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every aspect of life, be it something to wear, something to eat - it's all been wrong."

My name is Mayura

I guess for most parents naming their children is probably the first biggest challenge that they face as soon as their bundle of joy arrives…
A name is probably the most important aspect for any person…its something he’s identified by for the rest of his/her life(unless he/she changes it).
My mom was responsible for naming me and my dad gave her complete freedom to keep a name of her choice… My mom named me Mayura…Many relatives gave many suggestions but from day one she had made up her mind....
When I asked her about it…she said that even as a young girl she had decided that she would name her child Mayura(i.e if it were a girl child)…
Like many others I know I was always very curious about my name….wanted to know about its origins, its meaning etc etc…
The only thing that I knew about my name was its meaning….Mayura in Sanskrit means “peacock”. I absolutely loved my name because of its meaning…The peacock is such a beautiful bird and also our National bird…
But my name goes beyond all that…….My friends always poked fun at my name because of the large number of Hotels named Mayura…not only in Karnataka,Andra Pradesh…but rest of the country..They used to say that they would probably get free accommodation in these hotels if I would tag along….
Anyway the reason I wanted to write about my name was to inform them that my name has several meanings and history associated with it…its not just the name of possibly all hotels in India and abroad( FYI: I found out that there is a Mayura Lounge in Barcelona) .
However to my surprise I found that there are even software named Mayura , Yoga postures ,dance forms, kings ,Chinese cartoons etc etc… Read On…. And also you’ll be surprised as to what you find when you give your name for Google Search…. Ofcourse it needs to be popular just like mine…
Details I found through Google Search!!!!

Mayura (a Sanskrit word for peacock) is one of the sacred and highly sanctified birds of the Hindu mythology and find references in a number of Hindu scriptures
The legend states that the Mayura was created from the feathers of Garuda, another semi-divine mythical birds of Hindu mythology. Garuda is believed to be a vahana (conveyance) of Vishnu, one of the Trimurti. In images of the Mayura as a mythical bird, it is depicted as killing a snake, which according to a number of Hindu scriptures, is a symbol of cycle of time.
Significance
Mayura is associated with a number of gods and deities of the Hindus including the following:
It is a vahana(vehicle) of
Sarasvati, the goddess of speech and learning. Goddess Kaumari is generally depicted with a Mayura and Mayura also serves as her conveyance. A Mayura also serves as a conveyance of the god Kartikeya. Krishna is generally depicted with peacock feathers adorning his head.
In general, feathers of Mayura are considered sacred and are used to dust the religious images and implements of Hindus.
Ofcourse there were several other stories but don’t wont to bug you anymore…..this is enough…if you haven’t tried to Google search your name do it!!! Its FUN……
The picture you see is that of a Chinese or Japanese(I don’t know) cartoon named Mayura… cool !!!!!

A Crappy No 1

Yesterday evening when flipping through the channels I found a Top 20 show on Zoom TV…. Thinking that my current favorite song will be No 1 I waited patiently to listen to it… (still the 17th or 16th song was playing). Can you believe that Aaj Ki Raat from Don is still on the show??? Wonder how authentic these countdowns are….. Anyway I wasn’t bothered about the authenticity of the countdown…just wanted to hear to my track… didn’t mind waiting for it .
Considering the fact that this track is my current favorite I thought it will be the Top 1 song…. If not ,atleast the Top 2.
Thankfully only a part of the songs were being played and I did not have to wait for long!! I was sad though that even my track would be played for just a few seconds….(you lose some you win some).
Finally it came to the top 5 songs… I was pretty curious to know which those 5 songs were… quickly the 5th song was played…. Some lame movie and I did not even bother to hear the song….I wondered how people could like such songs… then realised that if there were some bikini clad women it was a definite hit!!! (MEN go figure them out… or never mind it’s a waste of time.. really!!! They don’t mind watching semi naked women, but later talk about how such women have no self respect!!! Hipocrites all of them)
Anyways I can go on and on about the before said…but I wont. The next song to my surprise was my current favorite… at the No 4 position… I wondered how that was possible….It’s a really nice song…good lyrics..music and even the singing wasn’t too bad..So I wondered how this song had reached the No 4 position when I expected it to stay at Top 1 for atleast a few more weeks…
For those who are really annoyed with me for not revealing the name of the song ..its Woh Ajanabee from the movie Train or The Train(whatever …its not like I’m going to watch that movie). The lyrics are simply amazing …I even downloaded it (First time for a Hindi movie). The music is also very catchy..
Since I had watched almost the entire show…I decided to watch the No 1 song aswell…
To my horror it was Himesh Reshammiya’s movieeeee….Aap Ka Surroor-the reel love story ( or something to that effect… the spelling mistakes here are not intentional… they have actually been made by those who made the movieee).
Can you believe that George W Bush actually said that Indians are real good spellers!!!( this comment was made by him after several Indian –American kids did really well in the spelling bee). He should probably read the title… he’ll have a different opinion I’m sure!!
My God how is it possibe that Himesh’s songs are such big hits??? That guy can’t sing to save his life… Whenever his song is being played I see some strange reaction in all the stray dog’s near my place…they start howling too… really..it’s like they recognise the voice sooo well…they have the time of their lives listening to Himesh…
I guess he’s best suited to sing for dog’s .. atleast in my opinion!!! (he howls so well)..
Now I come to the movieee…heard it’s a big hit…good for Himesh..but unfortunately sad for all of us, who have to tolerate the guy …
I haven’t watched the movie(go figure out why!!) .. So I will be commenting on the promos which I watched just to make fun of the guy(Himesh)…. He’s got such an “ I’m the Best” look on his face all the time… puhleeez…And he’s like this movie will answer all the questions like why I wear a cap or why his songs have sad endings etc etc…
First and foremost I don’t care to know the answers to these questions Himesh and I know that there are several loosers out there who probably want the answer… so give them a special screening of your moviee and let the others live in peace!!!!!
Every time I flip the channel its him… give me a break plz…
I actually thought that the movie was a comedy with fiction …. I thought since Himesh the reeel(real) joker is the hero it would be a comedy…then came the shocker.
I thought the moviee had elements of fiction…. Why you ask???
The height of imagination – A guy like Himesh dreaming that he would get a hottie like Mallika and that he would actually let go of her for someone else!!!!

A Tribute

Today morning when I went for my early morning jog I realized that I was really missing my friends very much… It’s been nearly a month and a half since I saw my college friends….Yes that long!!! The last time we were together was for the demo of our project in college… After that each of us have gotten busy with our own lives and haven’t had the time to meet up… We do call up each other and send messages though..but that's not enough!!!
Two of them have gone to their hometown, others are busy with work… and some others are already preparing for higher studies….
This made me wonder if things would ever become the way they were a month ago… To be frank I’m glad everyone is moving forward…pursuing their dreams and doing things which make them happy… I’m really happy for them… but somewhere in my heart I wish if it was possible for everything to be just the way it was a month ago…
Anyways I’m the kind of person to make the best out of the situation… so I decided to write about my college and my experiences as a student ….
My college has a very special place in my heart cause its probably the only place I studied where I felt “AT HOME”…. Seriously I absolutely love the place…
If I say “my school means a lot to me” or any such thing then I’d be lying… yes!!!
To be very frank I never liked my school .I never got the feeling of belonging there.
Always felt like an outsider… Never liked any of my teachers except maybe a few of them… I know its something very horrible to say.. but the truth is always bitter…
I can hardly even remember their names…. Not that I have a bad memory or any such thing but the fact that I never felt anyone of them were worth being remembered…
Always felt that most of them never had the qualities of being teachers… no patience, no consideration, no kindness… all of which I think are extremely essential to be a teacher….
Then came my classmates… not a great bunch of people… I liked only a few of them… and its not like I’m bitching behind their backs… they new exactly what I thought of them…
Then my seniors… a few were very nice.. a few bullied me… I can’t say much about them…
13 years of my life were spent here and I can say that the only good outcome of my association with this school was my friendship to Madhu… :)

Then came my PreUniversity college .. Nice place… made an amazing set of friends…Bhavna,Maha,Ketaki,Chaitra …. The first year was pretty okay… still getting to know these people… Second year was hectic, but still great fun…
The canteen was great.. used to get amazing lunches for just 10 Rs.. and the softies were yummm….
The lecturers were fun too…(told some really ***** stuff... go figure out!!!)the fact that it was an all girls college made it even more fun… we could do anything we wanted bindaas…not bothering about who’s looking etc etc….
The fests were real fun… I’m not much of the cultural fests or as a matter of fact any type of fests person(Read as: technical or techno-cultural)I’d rather be a home watching TV or lazing around my house person…..But did not want to hurt my friend’s feelings by not attending…. (Yes I'm very considerate and kind person... not some jackass who does'nt care for her friends)So I used to tag along with them….But had fun though… just because of their company..
But still there was something missing….I can’t point to what that is…but still felt kinda out of place….

Finally joined a B.E. course and came to Dr.Ambedkar Institute Of Technology the place which gave me everything I wanted….
I still remember the first day… we had chemistry lab the first hour..I did’nt know where the lab was … and probably searched the entire college.. was nervous to ask any senior… Finally found a lecturer and asked him for directions… Since I was early to college I made it on time for class… (I'm extremely punctual)
A few weeks later found an amazing set of friends… First time I felt that people just like me existed on this planet!!! (read as: those with similar likings and interests)
It was the first time I liked all of my classmates… they were a fun set of people… a few from north east with really funny names… All their surnames began with Lal….
My very close friends from this college are Mrudula, Sahana, Prakruthi,Prathima,Preethi,Divya, Nuthana,Kusuma…. Had great fun with all of you…
Most importantly was at peace with myself… found a great bunch of friends and a wonderful college……..
The lecturers were great too… neither too strict or lenient…just the right combination of both.. (I'm sure everyone wants the lecturers to be strict sometimes!!! Ok maybe not... but I'm weird... I know that)....Very supportive and considerate… qualities I had never found in my teachers before…. (don't think that I'm trying to butter them... I'm already out of college)Even the non-teaching staff was great…(nooooooo I'm really not kidding!!!) They helped us so much throughout…. Especially for our project….can’t thank them enough for all their help..
My college Dr.Ambedkar Insitute Of Technology changed me and my life…. A biiig THANKS to all of you who were a part of my journey from being the gawky teenager to a sensitive adult… THANK YOU!!! :) :) :)

About Grey's Anatomy

For many who do not know about Grey’s Anatomy I’ll give a brief introduction…..
To start with it’s a TV show which used to come on Star World every Wednesday night at 10 P.M. (the 2nd season ended just a few weeks ago).
I don’t think the show has gained a lot of popularity (as yet) in India as it has in the US and many other parts of the world. How is it that I say that the show is very popular in US and other countries??? I ts becoz of the many Golden Globe, Emmy and other such nominations and awards the show has received from the time it began…
FYI :The show was awarded the Golden Globe for the best drama series in 2007

I consider writing about this show as important because it has taught me many valuable lessons in life…. (really I’m not joking).Every time I was down I always felt better watching this show.
I used to always eagerly wait for Wednesday’s just to watch this show…
I’m even sure that many others who watch this show will agree with me.

Now let me give you a few details about the characters and their lives…. It’s real fun and I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading this…. Read On

The main character here is Meredith Grey(hence the show’s name Grey’s Anatomy). She’s an intern(a doctor being guided by another senior doctor) at Seattle Grace(Name of the hospital she works in).
She is the daughter of Alice Grey ,a very famous surgeon …now in an old age home coz she’s suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and cant remember almost the last 25 years of her life…. She can barely remember or recognise her own daughter Meredith.
She still thinks that she’s a resident(read as: doctor) at Seattle Grace.
There are 4 other interns as well ….Izzie,Christina,Alex and George.
Nothing much is told about their families or background.
Then there is Derek (played by the delicious Patrick Dempsey). He is a neurosurgeon and trying to get back at his cheating wife Addison.
Then there is Preston Burke who heads the Cardiology department and is in love with one of the interns Christina..(the brainy one… a top rank holder in University)
The part of Christina Yang is played by Sandra On…(she won a Golden globe for her performance in Grey’s Anatomy) .
There is Izzie a former model… she starts modelling just to earn money for her medical tutions…Is made fun of by everybody at Seattle Grace when they find her pictures in a magazine …until she shuts them up by telling them that ,when all of them have huge student loans to payback… she has absolutely nothing to worry about( It was an amazing scene and I cannot describe it in words… You people will just have to watch it).
George is a very funny character… again made fun by all… secretly has a crush on Meredith and never has the guts to tell her that… she thinks of him as probably her girlfriend :) (Yes girlfriend)…. Unitl a few episodes later things turn kind of nasty…you must watch that…
Finally there is Alex the jackass, the guy everyone hates cause he’s such a jerk… but very honest though…I think many people will like his character.. atleast I do…
All the characters are grey(again probably the reason for the name of the show) and you can never call them good or bad….That’s something I like a lot about the show…. People are not good or bad… Its their circumstances that make them do things which we as a society classify as good or bad…
Well there you have it…. A piece of Grey’s Anatomy…Will let you know when the next season starts….I’m sure you’re all curious!!!!

My First Innings

Now people don’t think that this is about the first innings of a match which India played recently or something like that… The title represents my first time as a blogger. Yes and you are the privileged few to be reading this….
First things first. Why did I decide to start blogging??? That’s a question I’m asking myself now… Well I need to come up with reasons…here goes

1.I am absolutely bored as I finished my final year exams more than a month ago and have absolutely nothing to do till work begins(still don’t know when that’s gonna happen).I have enjoyed myself to the hilt and now kind of starting to crave for work(yes that’s a shocker)but its true. So I felt that blogging would be a good source of entertainment and that too free of cost(I’m a sucker for all things free).
2.Ahh… like a quick lightning something flashed in my head right now… the second reason. See I have several things to say to people… but usually don’t .. keep things to myself…This would give me an excellent opportunity to tell people my stories which most of my friends snooze over….So I usually don’t bother with that….Blogging hopefully will give me an opportunity to tell people what I’m thinking etc etc.
3.And the third reason is of course keeping in touch with my friends…should have been the first reason… but who cares..my friends know that they are always No 1 priority to me….Hopefully my friends read this and realize how much they mean to me even if I may have never said it to them… :)

Finally the most important reason… to gain a lot of popularity… yes heard people get popular by writing good stuff… so thought why not give it a shot…might actually work…. Who knows what the future beholds… This might be my gateway to fame and (fortune???).High hopes I know that…. Well just giving it my best shot…
Now to the most important and interesting part of the blog MYSELF….
As you can see or rather read I am full of myself and would like to give some of you(read as: those who have never met me or know who I am) some interesting details about myself….
Name:Mayura
Age:21 years
Address: Sorry, that I cant give…and yes I’m scared you might come home…. unannounced for dinner :)
Work or rather Occupation: At home right now .. work starting in a couple of weeks..I hope
Interests: cooking, cleaning, gardening (pretty much do everything in and around the house… Have been asking my dad to pay me salary equivalent to my maid…but that never happens) Photography…. Capturing precious moments in frame….

Well that’s sufficient for now.. you’ll get to know more soon…. Have some patience….People who know me much better will definitely tell you "Look who’s talking or rather writing" …cause patience is one thing I don’t posses ….
Probably the only drawback in me….yes the one and only IMPATIENCE….
Cooking is something I’ve loved ever since my childhood… its more like a stress buster to me….usually start to cook when I’m bored or stressed out or anything like that….Yah I’m one very weird person…But you know what, many chefs I see on TV tell the same thing. They find cooking a great way to relax… so maybe I’m not the only one to feel this way….
My cooking talents are one thing I’m totally proud of… I probably might give out some great recipes for you to try out aswell…..For those who probably hate cooking or are too lazy to cook you can come home anytime… but its gonna cost you :)
Guess this is sufficient for now…. Will keep blogging.... hope you guys had fun reading this ….

P.S. Please give me your feedback by posting comments…they will give me a lot of encouragement… :)
